Symptoms

    • MRI Offers high-resolution imaging for precise assessmen.
  • Microbiological Cultures Identifies causative organisms from blood or abscess aspirat.
Treatment
  • Antibiotics Empirical broad-spectrum antibiotics are initiated, adjusted based on culture result.
  • Drainage Procedures:
    • Percutaneous Drainage Insertion of a needle through the skin to drain pus; guided by imagin.
    • Surgical Drainage Required for large, inaccessible, or multiple abscesse.
  • Management of Underlying Causes Addressing conditions like biliary tract disease or intestinal infections contributing to abscess formatio.
